Net pension lower due to higher taxes

30 March 2016

Is your monthly pension € 2,000 gross or higher? If so, you will receive a slightly smaller net pension as of April 1, 2016. This is due to a change in taxes.

Mars Pensioenfonds has to deduct payroll tax from your pension. The rates that we use had already changed as of the beginning of 2016. The government then adjusted the 2016 Tax Plan once again. As of April 1, these adjustments apply to your pension.

Due to the higher tax, you will receive a slightly lower net pension. This only applies if your pension is € 2,000 gross or higher. Is your gross pension lower? Then the change will have no effect on your net pension.

What does this mean for you?

If your net pension changes, you will receive a specification of your pension. You will receive this specification in April. The specification shows how much net pension you will receive. It also shows how much tax will be deducted from your pension.
