If you become disabled

If you become disabled

You do not have to notify us yourself that you have become disabled. The Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) decides whether you are disabled and notifies us of this automatically. You must, however, notify us of any changes in your situation. For example, if your degree of disability changes. This can affect your benefit.

If you become disabled, you are entitled to full or partial continuation of your pension accrual. You may also be entitled to a disability pension from the Mars Pension Fund, in addition to your WIA benefit. Disability pension is paid until the date when you can return to work or you retire.

We will send you a letter with information on your specific situation

If you become disabled, we will send you a letter explaining what happens next and what you are entitled to. The letter will give full details of what will happen given your situation. If you still have questions, call us to talk things through. Always contact us if your situation changes. For example, if the degree of your disability increases or decreases. This can affect your benefit.
