How certain is your pension? (ARP/ASP)

Indexation (ARP/ASP)

We try to increase your pension benefit every year. This is only possible if the pension fund is financially healthy. If it is not, we cannot increase it. This is how we have increased pensions over the past three years:

Year
Indexation inactives
Increase of prices*
2023 3.27% 14.53%
2022 1.75% 2.70%
2021 0.76% 1.11%
2020 2.88% 2.65%

* the figures on the increase in prices are based on figures from the CBS.

The amount of your pension is not fixed (ARP/ASP)

The amount of your pension is not fixed, also not if you choose for a fixed pension during the accrual of your pension capital.

If you choose a fixed pension on your retirement date, you know where you stand. You know how much you will receive each month for the rest of your life. A variable pension can be higher or lower each year. Your pension capital continues to be invested after your retirement date.

What happens if there is a shortfall? (ARP/ASP)

If we have a shortfall, we prepare a recovery plan and we may take one or more of the following measures:

  • The pensions are not or not fully increased.
  • The employer’s contribution is increased
  • In the most extreme case, we reduce your pension
