The start of Mars Pension Fund’s new pension plan as per January 1, 2027 was not feasible. Mars Pension Fund is now expected to introduce the new pension plan on January 1, 2028.

In 2024, the House of Representatives approved the new pension choice known as ‘lump sum’. The Senate recently indicated that it would only consider this proposal once the new minister had announced a clear start date.

Following the expiry of the current term of office of one member of the Accountability Council representing pensioners and one member of the Accountability Council representing active members, two vacancies have arisen within the Accountability Council of Mars Pension Fund.

Following the expiration of the current term of two board members representing active members, two vacancies for board positions will arise within the board of Mars Pension Fund.

Every month, you receive your pension from Mars Pension Fund on or around the 1st day of the month. Starting in July 2026, we will change the payment date for your pension to the 20th of each month. This change does not mean that you will miss a payment, but that you will receive it later in the same month.

The board of Mars Pension Fund decides at the end of each year whether we can increase the pensions of pensioners and deferred members, and if so by how much. This is called indexation. This year more time is needed to make this decision.

Your pension plan will change due to new government rules. Based on the new rules, the social partners (Mars and the Works Councils) make agreements about the new pension plan. Associations of pensioners and associations of deferred members have a legal right to be heard (hoorrecht) so that they can make their voices heard

In our pension plan you can start your pension from the age of 50. There are rules that determine whether you can continue working alongside your pension. These rules have changed with the introduction of the Future Pensions Act on 1 July 2023.

The interest accrual for the ARP plan for the first half of 2023 has been set. For active members this is 3.21% on an annual basis. For deferred members this is 0%.
