Pension Insight Session for personal guidance when making pension choices
The Pension Insight Sessions are part of the guidance we provide through the pension fund to help you prepare as well as possible for your retirement. Due to the high level of interest in the Pension Insight Sessions in June, we organized five additional sessions in September for associates who are approaching retirement and/or gradually reducing their work.
All participants aged 55 and over were invited to the sessions. More than 50 participants attended a session. We look back on informative and valuable sessions. Participants rated the sessions an average of 8.5.
Explanation of pension choices under the current pension plans (Final pay plan and ARP/ASP)
The Pension Insight Sessions focus primarily on the choices you can make under the current pension plans when you retire. Separate sessions are held for the Final Salary Plan and the MUP/MSP Plan. The pension coaches guide participants through the different choices available under the plan and explain how to use My planner in MyMarsPension. This is a tool that allows you to calculate different pension choices and see how they affect your pension.
Retiring around the transition to the new pension plan
A board member attends each session to explain what the upcoming changes to the pension plan may mean for the choices you make around your retirement. Especially if you are retiring around the time of the pension transition, it is important not only to have a good understanding of your personal pension situation and the choices available to you under the current pension plan, but also to understand what the transition to the new pension plan means, for example, for the timing of your retirement.
Personal contact and asking questions
The sessions also cover practical matters, such as taxes, deductions and what else you need to arrange around your retirement. There is an opportunity to ask questions and speak personally with both the board member attending the session and the pension coaches.
