Accountability Council candidates wanted

8 March 2024

Mars Pension Fund is looking for a new member for its Accountability Council, on behalf of the employees. From the Talent Pool, a prospective candidate is ready, but you can also apply as a candidate!

The Pension Board is accountable for its policy to the Accountability Council. The employees, pensioners and the employer are represented in the Accountability Council. Each of these groups is represented by 2 members. In view of the important issues with regard to the new pension agreement (Wet Toekomst Pensioenen), the MPF board decided to expand the Accountability Council from three to six members. Two of them represent the employees: one for the final pay plan and one for the ARP/ASP plan. As one member on behalf of the employees is leaving the Accountability Council, there is now a vacancy for an Accountability Council member on behalf of the employees for the ARP/ASP plan. From the Talent Pool, a prospective candidate is ready, but we welcome more candidates. You can find the job profile here

Talent Pool

Mars Pension Fund sets high standards for the Accountability Council. The Accountability Council ultimately assesses the policy of the pension fund. To ensure that suitable candidates are ready, Mars Pension Fund trains its own candidates. We do this by means of the Talent Pool. The Board has identified one candidate from this Talent Pool who is suitable for this vacancy: Dennis Kaijser. He is introduced below.

Dennis Kaijser
Dennis (38) joined Mars in 2015, which automatically made him a participant in the ARP/ASP plan. The first seven years he worked in the Dutch market (EVE/ITR), in the logistics team as Key User Outbound. In 2022 Dennis joined VEG, where he fulfilled several logistics roles. This is how he started in the regional inbound planning team. He then helped implement a new planning system, and after a short period as a local inbound planner, he is currently working within a warehouse implementation project. Dennis lives with his wife and their two sons in Beuningen. Besides a busy family life, he aims to make time for BBQs, motorcycling and swimming.

Why Dennis?
Dennis joined the Talent Pool in 2022 and has been an aspiring member of the Accountability Council since mid-2023. In addition, he is currently following the final module of the course to become a Pension Fund Board Member (Opleiding Pensioenfondsbestuurder-A). In recent years, Dennis' interest in the pension matter has grown, and especially with the upcoming changes due to the Future Pensions Act, this interest has only grown stronger. Dennis is analytically strong and is also keen to understand the details. This combined with his often down-to-earth approach makes him a suitable candidate for a position on the Accountability Council.
