New way of reporting moving in a foreign country

16 June 2025

Do you live abroad and are you moving to another address that is abroad as well? Provide your address to the Dutch government to be processed by the National Office for Identity Data in the Registration of Non-residents (RNI), part of the Personal Records Database (BRP).

Previously, you had to report a change of address abroad yourself to Dutch (government) organizations, such as pension funds and the Tax and Customs Administration. When you report your address via the web application of the RNI, you no longer have to report this separately yourself. A careful assessment is made of which organizations need your data before they receive it. Click here to go to the RNI web application.

Please note: the change of report applies to the Dutch government only

This method of reporting only applies to people who live abroad and move to another location abroad. People who move from, to or within the Netherlands must still report their move and address themselves to the municipality where they are going to live. The RNI only processes the change for the Dutch government, not for foreign organizations.
