The Accountability Body is looking for a new member

7 March 2018

Mars Pensioenfonds is looking for a new candidate on behalf of the employees for the Accountability Council (VO/Accountability Council). One of the current members of the VO, Paul van Bree, is making the switch to the board of MPF. As a result, there is a vacancy in the VO, for which there is already a potential candidate (Judith Vermeulen). You can register yourself as a candidate for the vacancy.

What does the Accountability Body do?

The board of Mars Pensioenfonds is accountable to the Accountability Council. The Accountability Body checks whether the board has taken the interests of all stakeholders into account in the decisions taken. For example, they assess the annual report and advise on various matters such as the communication policy and the complaints and disputes procedure.

The Accountability Body meets twice a year and also has a number of conference calls. The Accountability Council and the pension fund board meet at least once a year. English is spoken during the meetings. All meeting documents are also in English.

Who is on the Accountability Body?

The Mars Pensioenfonds Accountability Body consists of 3 members:

  • Ian Langer, on behalf of the employer
  • Ad van Gestel, on behalf of the pensioners (Chairman)
  • Vacancy, on behalf of the employees

Register as a candidate?

Are you interested? Then we cordially invite you to register as a candidate. You can nominate yourself by sending the following documents to Saskia Tonnaer  no later than April 8, 2018:

  • a motivation why you are suitable for the Accountability Body;
  • 2 references with whom we can contact and where we can test both your reliability and expertise for this position; and
  • your resume.

Formally, the term of office in the Accountability Council is three years. But because we ask for the necessary expertise from you, it is an advantage if you can be available for several terms. The time commitment is approximately 6 days per year.

Selection

If there are several candidates, the selection committee will make a selection. The suitable candidates will then be presented to the board for further assessment. Elections will follow after the assessment. If there is no suitable candidate, the only candidate can be voted 'for' or 'against'.
