Vacancy on the Board on behalf of pensioners

1 December 2025

The current term on the Board of Mars Pension Fund of Wim van de Laar ends in March 2026. The Board of Mars Pension Fund would like Wim to remain as a board member for another two years during the ongoing transition to the new pension plan, partly because Wim made an important contribution to the design of the new plan.

Wim has been a member of the Board of Mars Pension Fund for over 20 years and has been a member of the Board representing pensioners since 2022. At this stage, it does not seem wise to bring in a new board member. The Board has therefore opted for a shorter term (a regular term is four years). Wim is happy to make himself available for an additional two-year term.

If you disagree with the reappointment of Wim, you can object to this before January 2, 2026. If you would like to propose another candidate, you may do so. Please submit your motivation by email before January 2, 2026, providing a clear explanation of why you object to the reappointment and/or mentioning any other candidate.

Why Wim van de Laar?

In our opinion, Wim has the right knowledge and experience to properly perform the role of board Member of Mars Pension Fund on behalf of the pensioners. He has over 20 years of experience as a board Member, first on behalf of the active members and, since 2022, on behalf of the pensioners.

In his role as board Member, Wim is Chairman of the Pension Committee and a member of the Pension Communication Committee. He also plays an important role in the project for the new pension plan; he is responsible for the administrative workflow within the project.

Who is Wim?

Wim is 66 years old, he has a university degree in Biology, and he started working as a Product Development Officer at Mars b.v. in 1986. Throughout his career, Wim has expanded his experience and skills across a wide range of positions. He worked in R&D and Procurement, building up his activities to positions with global responsibility. Wim left Mars in 2018 but remained involved with the Mars Pension Fund.

Wim would like to continue for another two years and continue to work towards a good pension for all members. With the challenges facing the Board with the new pension plan, he wants to make this a success together with a group of highly motivated people (Board, Pension Office, Accountability Council, and Supervisory Board).
