Supplement for pensions as of 1 January 2019

20 December 2018

As of 1 January 2019, we will increase the pensions in payment by the full supplement: 1.41%.

Mars Pensioenfonds takes the supplement decision every year in November. This is done on the basis of the price index and the policy funding ratio of September of that year. In September, the policy funding ratio was well above the required equity capital (approx. 123%). This is an important condition for granting a full supplement. A full surcharge means 75% of the price inflation.

As of January 1, 2019 we can also collect allowance

Because things are going so well from a financial point of view, we will also make up for missed allowances from past years. In some years, the financial situation of the pension fund was less good, as a result of which we were unable to give (the full) supplement.

For the period from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2018, we have determined the missed allowance per year (see below).

Make-up allowance over the past years:

January 1, 2018: 0.12%

January 1, 2017: 0.03%

January 1, 2016: 0.16%

January 1, 2015: 0.10%

January 1, 2014: 0.00%

January 1, 2013: 1.14%

January 1, 2012:   1.36%

You are not automatically entitled to all these allowances. You are only entitled to a make-up allowance if you:

are out of service or

are retired or

are incapacitated for work or

ex-partner.

In addition, you still have to be on January 1, 2019.
