New! Your pension in good or bad times

17 September 2019

On the website mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl you will find information about your pension and the old age pension. You can see, among other things, the pension that you have accrued with Mars Pensioenfonds. From October 2019 something new will be added. Next to the amounts that you have always seen, you will see a picture with 3 amounts.

These 3 net monthly amounts are an estimate. An estimate of your pension and AOW when you retire. But then in 3 different situations:

  • a neutral situation 'expected end result';
  • a pessimistic situation 'if things go wrong' and
  • an optimistic situation 'if all goes well'.

You are on your way

The picture on the website shows three arrows. At the bottom of the large arrow is the amount that you have accrued so far. At the top of the large arrow is the amount (pension plus AOW) that you arrive at in the neutral situation. The left arrow shows the amount you will receive if things go wrong. The right arrow shows the amount if you are lucky.

The picture looks a bit like the navigation system in a car. It indicates that you are 'on the go'. But a lot can still happen between now and your retirement date. The expected pension can therefore still change. What makes it good or bad?

  • Interest rates can rise or fall;
  • Investments may or may not yield high returns and/or
  • Prices can rise or fall (quickly).

Not yet at the UPO

The picture with the 3 amounts must be visible on mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl from October 2019. From 2020, the scenarios must also be included on the Uniform Pension Overview (UPO).

The navigation plate is therefore not yet on the UPO of 2019. Moreover, the 'neutral amount' on the website is different from the 'to be reached pension' on the UPO. On mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl you can see all your pension, including the pension that you may have accrued with other employers. In addition, the AOW has been added to this. On the UPO you only see the pension of Mars Pensioenfonds. And without the state pension.
